I’ve been an advocate for reproductive rights for as long as I can remember.
During my time in college as an advocate for reproductive freedom, I fought at the social and political level for all people’s access to the tools to make informed decisions about their bodies and their lives.
This is how I first learned what a doula was.
As someone who had been advocating for reproductive rights and autonomy on a macro level, the idea of doing this work individually as a doula called to me in a way that I had never experienced before.
I had a knowing.
Once I started my doula training, I started to notice a spiritual element to birth. One that’s a little softer, a little sweeter, and more grounded. I realized that this side of birth tends to get lost in the name of efficiency and modern medicine.
I came to understand that in a society that looks to maximize productivity, the opportunity to slow down and enjoy the ride has become a lost art.
My goal as a doula is to ensure that my clients are not only informed and empowered, but also to make sure they are emotionally and spiritually nourished throughout the process.
My favorite thing in the world is helping birthing clients to realize their power and embrace the badass that they are. My hope for you is that after your birth you feel like you can accomplish absolutely anything, because you can!
I look forward to guiding you on this journey to an empowered birth.
